Participation Terms

1. Scope

These Participation Terms apply to all events, experiences, trips, meetups, projects, community activities, online and offline services, and other activities organized, coordinated, hosted, promoted, or facilitated under the Unmapped brand by WaveOrigin OÜ (“Unmapped”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By registering, participating, purchasing, joining, attending, or using any Unmapped service, platform, community, website, group, or activity, you agree to these Terms.

2. Nature of Services

WaveOrigin OÜ operates community, networking, organizational, coordination, educational, and platform-based services.

Unmapped is not a travel agency, tour operator, transportation provider, accommodation provider, or insurer unless explicitly stated otherwise for a specific offering.

Accommodation, transportation, tours, activities, rentals, coworking spaces, restaurants, venues, guides, and other services are generally provided by independent third-party providers.

Unmapped may:

  • organize or coordinate activities
  • facilitate introductions and community connections
  • support communication between participants and providers
  • collect or forward payments
  • recommend or promote third-party services

However, Unmapped does not own, operate, or control these third-party services unless explicitly stated.

3. Participation Requirements

Participants must:

  • be at least 18 years old (strictly enforced — see Section 20 below)
  • be physically and mentally capable of participating
  • comply with all local laws and regulations
  • hold all legally required licenses, permits, or qualifications
  • independently evaluate whether participation is suitable for them

Participants are solely responsible for verifying:

  • visa requirements
  • travel requirements
  • legal eligibility
  • driving eligibility
  • medical fitness
  • insurance coverage

4. Safety & Personal Responsibility

Participants agree to:

  • act responsibly and respectfully
  • follow local laws and safety regulations
  • respect local cultures and communities
  • use appropriate safety equipment where necessary
  • make decisions within their own capabilities and limits
  • immediately stop participation if they feel unsafe

Participation is voluntary and at the participant's own risk.

Unmapped does not provide:

  • medical supervision
  • professional driving instruction
  • security services
  • licensed guiding services unless explicitly stated
  • constant supervision of participants

Participants remain fully responsible for their own decisions, actions, health, and conduct at all times.

5. Assumption of Risk

Participation in events, trips, meetups, coworking sessions, networking activities, sports, outdoor activities, transportation, nightlife, water activities, scooter rides, hiking, and other experiences involves inherent risks.

These risks may include:

  • accidents or injuries
  • traffic incidents
  • theft or loss
  • illness
  • weather conditions
  • political or local disruptions
  • misconduct of third parties
  • equipment failures
  • food-related risks
  • travel disruptions

By participating, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation.

6. Third-Party Services

Many services connected to Unmapped activities are provided by independent third parties.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • hotels
  • hostels
  • airlines
  • transport providers
  • scooter rentals
  • activity operators
  • restaurants
  • venues
  • tour companies
  • insurance providers

Unmapped:

  • does not control these providers
  • does not guarantee availability, quality, legality, or safety
  • is not responsible for acts, omissions, cancellations, delays, injuries, or damages caused by third parties

Any claims related to third-party services must be directed to the respective provider.

7. Payments

Participation fees may include:

  • organizational services
  • coordination services
  • access to community experiences
  • administrative costs
  • event participation
  • platform-related services

Additional costs may apply separately.

Certain payments may be:

  • estimates only
  • collected on behalf of third parties
  • adjusted based on actual costs
  • subject to local taxes, exchange rates, or provider changes

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, payments do not include:

  • insurance
  • visa costs
  • flights
  • personal expenses
  • optional activities

8. Refunds & Transfers

Unless otherwise stated:

  • participation fees are non-refundable
  • unused services are non-refundable
  • cancellations by participants do not guarantee reimbursement

Participants may transfer their spot to another eligible person if approved by Unmapped beforehand.

Third-party refunds remain subject to the policies of the respective providers.

In exceptional situations, Unmapped may voluntarily offer:

  • partial refunds
  • credits
  • transfers
  • rescheduling options

without creating a legal obligation to do so in future cases.

9. Changes & Cancellation

Unmapped may change:

  • schedules
  • routes
  • accommodations
  • activities
  • venues
  • partners
  • event formats

if reasonably necessary for:

  • safety
  • operational reasons
  • weather conditions
  • legal requirements
  • minimum participation levels
  • force majeure events

Unmapped may cancel activities if necessary.

If Unmapped cancels an event entirely, refunds may be issued at Unmapped's discretion and depending on recoverable costs.

10. Insurance

Participants are solely responsible for obtaining appropriate:

  • health insurance
  • travel insurance
  • liability insurance
  • accident insurance
  • vehicle insurance

Unmapped does not provide insurance coverage unless explicitly stated.

11. Community Standards and Content Moderation

Participants agree to maintain respectful behavior toward:

  • other participants
  • locals
  • partners
  • staff
  • community members

Unmapped may remove participants from activities, communities, chats, events, or platforms without refund if behavior is:

  • dangerous
  • abusive
  • discriminatory
  • illegal
  • heavily disruptive
  • damaging to the community or brand

WaveOrigin OÜ reserves the right to remove, hide, or restrict any content that violates these standards or applicable law, without prior notice and without obligation to provide reasons.

Reporting: Users may report content or other users they believe violate these standards using the in-app reporting tools or by contacting unmapped.network@gmail.com. We will review all reports and take appropriate action.

Illegal content: WaveOrigin OÜ complies with all applicable legal obligations to report child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and other illegal content to the relevant authorities.

12. Platform & Community Use

Unmapped may operate:

  • websites
  • apps
  • online communities
  • WhatsApp groups
  • Discord servers
  • social platforms
  • member networks

Users remain responsible for:

  • their own communications
  • shared content
  • interactions with other members
  • independently verifying opportunities or collaborations

Unmapped does not guarantee:

  • business results
  • networking outcomes
  • partnerships
  • employment
  • investment opportunities
  • project success

13. Intellectual Property

All Unmapped branding, logos, designs, media, content, concepts, and materials remain the property of WaveOrigin OÜ unless otherwise stated.

Participants may not commercially use Unmapped branding without written permission.

14. Media & Content

Photos, videos, testimonials, and other media may be created during activities.

These may be used for:

  • marketing
  • social media
  • community promotion
  • website content
  • advertising
  • internal documentation

The legal basis is consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

By participating, you consent to the use of such content unless you object in writing before participation.

You may withdraw consent at any time with future effect.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WaveOrigin OÜ and Unmapped are not liable for:

  • injuries
  • accidents
  • property damage
  • theft
  • missed transport
  • cancellations
  • indirect damages
  • loss of profits
  • emotional distress
  • actions of third parties

Liability is limited to cases of intent or gross negligence unless mandatory law states otherwise.

Where liability cannot legally be excluded, liability shall be limited to the foreseeable and typical damages directly related to the service provided.

16. Force Majeure

Unmapped is not responsible for delays, changes, or cancellations caused by events outside reasonable control.

This includes:

  • natural disasters
  • pandemics
  • strikes
  • war
  • government actions
  • weather events
  • transport disruptions
  • political instability
  • internet or infrastructure failures

17. No Partnership or Employment Relationship

Participation does not create:

  • employment
  • partnership
  • joint venture
  • agency
  • franchise
  • fiduciary relationship

between participants and WaveOrigin OÜ.

18. User-Generated Content License

By submitting content to Unmapped — including project descriptions, event listings, posts, comments, profile information, and images — you grant WaveOrigin OÜ a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to store, host, display, reproduce, distribute, and index that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Unmapped platform and community.

You retain ownership of all content you submit. This license terminates when you delete your account or remove the content, subject to any retention required for legal compliance or platform integrity.

You represent and warrant that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.

19. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time via Dashboard → Profile → Delete Account within the app, or by contacting us at unmapped.network@gmail.com.

Upon deletion:

  • Your access to the platform is revoked immediately.
  • Your personal information (name, email, bio, avatar, location, social links, and profile fields) is anonymized within 30 days.
  • Content you contributed to shared events, projects, and chats is anonymized within 30 days and attributed to a deleted account.
  • Push notification tokens and analytics data linked to your account are deleted.
  • Events, projects, messages, reports, and other shared community records may be retained in anonymized form where needed for platform integrity, legal obligations, safety, abuse prevention, or dispute handling. Moderation and safety records are retained for up to 24 months after resolution.
  • Backup copies persist for a technical window of up to 30 days, after which they are permanently purged.

Full details on retention periods for each data category are set out in our Privacy Policy, Section 7.

Account deletion does not entitle you to refunds for past payments or event fees. Please refer to Section 8 (Refunds & Transfers) for the applicable refund policy. For questions, contact unmapped.network@gmail.com.

20. Age Restriction Enforcement

The Unmapped platform is strictly for users aged 18 and over. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age.

If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately suspend and permanently delete that account without notice and without obligation to refund any fees paid. Any content submitted by a minor may be removed at our discretion.

21. In-App Purchases and App Store Terms

If the Unmapped app offers paid features, tickets, or subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, those purchases are subject to the billing policies and terms of the respective store.

Refunds for in-app purchases are governed by Apple's or Google's refund policy and must be requested through the relevant store.

WaveOrigin OÜ does not have the ability to issue refunds for purchases made through the App Store or Google Play Store directly.

23. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to WaveOrigin OÜ.

If individual provisions are invalid, the remaining provisions remain unaffected.
